During your initial assessment you will be asked specific questions that will assist your Physiotherapist with diagnosis and guide treatment. A comprehensive analysis of your movement and function will be performed, combined with accurate muscle and joint palpation and tests. Your physiotherapist will then discuss with you various treatment options, and an expected injury recovery period. Treatment will assist you to improve your range of movement, and often involves performing a home exercise program to maintain or further improve your movement and muscle recruitment. This initial appointment may range between 30 and 45 minutes.

If further appointments are required, your Physiotherapist will work with you to achieve your goals - whether it is to improve your sporting performance, return to work, or achieve a pain free state. A thorough assessment is performed at each visit to review your progress and guide the progression of your treatment and exercises, and  may be for up to 30 minutes. 
 
The most appropriate treatment for your particular problem will be utilised, and may incorporate a combination of:
 
  • Dry Needling
  • Joint mobilisation or manipulation 
  • Deep Connective Tissue Massage
  • Nerve glides
  • Taping
  • Core Stability Training 
  • Specific Strengthening 
  • Muscle stretching
  • McKenzie Exercises (specific exercises for the back or neck)
  • Alteration of aggravating activities
  • Correction of your biomechanics
  • Provision of equipment eg orthotics
