Pilates Level 2 – Advanced Matwork and Ballwork


The Pilates for Sports course progresses on from the Level 1 course, introducing more advanced assessment and exercise prescription, specifically for patients who wish to improve their sporting performance or return to sport post injury, from recreational sportspeople to elite athletes. Encompassing specific retraining and progressions for sports including snowskiing and boarding; running sports; throwing sports; water sports; kicking, hitting and swinging sports, as well as performance sports.

This course incorporates mat and ballwork, as well as the use of Pilates exercise equipment - Reformer, Trapeze and Box as it applies to specific sports retraining.

Some of the sports specifically covered include:

- Dance
- Gymnastics and trapeze

- Swimming
- Rowing
- Sailing
- Soccer
- Snowskiing and boarding
- Running
- Throwing sports including cricket and baseball.

Advanced Lumbo-pelvic-hip as well as Upper Quadrant stability assessment and treatment is incorporated into this two day course. Your teaching skills of all Pilates exercises will be further refined and improved with specific cues and feedback. The use of Real Time Ultrasound (RTUS) will be incorporated to allow accurate assessment and guidance of Lumbo-pelvic stability in the clinic.

This course is a must for anyone working with advanced patients and sportspeople, and the prerequisite to attend this course is therLevel 1 Matwork and Ballwork or formal Pilates/Core Stability training.
